My stay at the Nuray Hotel was a mixed bag. The central location near major landmarks like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia was a major plus, making it easy to explore Istanbul. However, I encountered a few significant issues in the room that dampened the experience, including cleanliness concerns and a lack of maintenance.
Rooms

I booked a Triple Room with Garden View, but unfortunately, it had a strong smell of naphtalene. There was also mold in the bathroom, low water pressure, and one of the beds was crooked. The lack of cleanliness was evident, and I even had a shocking experience with a lamp near the sink. Overall, I couldn't ignore the health hazards despite the nice view.
Service
6.0
The receptionist was very helpful, which I appreciated. However, I found it concerning that there was no one at the reception when I arrived late at night. Communication with the owner before check-in was fine, but in such moments, immediate assistance would have been helpful.

The best part of my stay was the hotel’s location. It was right on the edge of the old town, making sightseeing super convenient. Being just a short walk from key landmarks like the Sultan Ahmed Mosque was fantastic.
Dining

The buffet breakfast was quite basic and repetitive over the four days of my stay. There were only a few items like cheese, simple omelettes, and spinach pastries, and they didn’t refill the plates when they ran out, which was disappointing.
Facilities

I found the facilities to be quite limited. There’s room service and a laundry option, but overall, there were no standout amenities that made my stay more comfortable.

I recently stayed at Nuray Hotel and while there were some positives, the negatives notably impacted my experience. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to major attractions like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. However, the hotel is in dire need of renovations, with issues ranging from cleanliness to safety hazards. Overall, I would rate my stay as a 5 mostly due to its central position and the helpful receptionist.

The room had a strong smell of naphtalene and overall cleanliness was an issue. Additionally, there were signs of mold in the bathroom, and my shower had very low water pressure. I had an unpleasant experience involving an electrical shock from a lamp. I was really looking forward to a comfortable stay, but the condition of the room left much to be desired.

The hotel reception was supposed to be available 24/7, but when I arrived late at night, no one was there to assist. The owner did communicate with us via message, which was helpful, yet I still expected someone to be at the front desk for support. The receptionist tried to help as best they could when present, which I appreciated.

The hotel's location is a major plus. It's within walking distance to iconic sites like the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the Basilica Cistern. I loved being in the heart of the old town, with plenty of cafes and shops nearby, making it easy to explore the area.

My stay at Nuray Hotel was a mix of highs and lows. The location was fantastic, with the Hagia Sophia just minutes away and plenty of shops and cafes nearby. However, the rooms were not well-maintained, and I faced multiple cleanliness issues. Overall, while I enjoyed the area, the hotel itself left much to be desired.

I booked a double room with a sea view, but it was far from what I expected. The shower box was clogged and dirty, and I noticed excessive dust in the room which made it uncomfortable for me, especially with my dust allergy. Even after switching rooms, the cleanliness didn’t improve significantly.

The owner was enthusiastic and tried to be helpful by sending a message for a self check-in. However, having no one available at the reception upon our late arrival was disappointing, especially since the hotel claims to have 24/7 service.
